In one day, I might visit a new country, talk to fascinating historical figures, kill a bad guy, torture a good guy, and I don't even get arrested. What could be better? More seriously, I love hearing from the fans. They write me their stories, sometimes, stories that break my heart and make me weep. It is utterly humbling to be invited into someone's life like that.(less)

Thief of Corinth by Tessa Afshar
"Thief of Corinth is a read that I just didn't want to put down. The plot never slows. I also like the way Paul's teachings were woven into the story. At the end, I wanted more adventures and for the story to continue on."
Thief of Corinth by Tessa Afshar
"I loved this very different book of fiction. This is a very interesting time period. I have never read a book based in Corinth and enjoyed learning a bit about it. I loved the character of Ariadne and how strong she is. It had to be hard to choose..." Read more of this review »

“We long for things that harm us and run from the things that grow and heal us. We think good is bad and bad is good.”
Tessa Afshar, Pearl in the Sand

“I mean that the reason God seems to act in ways that make no sense to us is that our perceptions are wrong. Our expectations are subtly twisted. We long for things that harm us and run from the things that grow and heal us. We think good is bad and bad is good. God acts rightly, but to us, it seems confusing. Or sometimes plain wrong.”
Tessa Afshar, Pearl in the Sand

“A woman needs to feel safe in love. She needs to know her husband accepts everything about her and still loves her. To be known through and through, including the failures of her past, the shortcomings of her character, and still be loved, that's the Promised Land of a woman's heart! That's where she finds rest.”
