Morgan Matson didn’t write a book… She wrote a movie.

Truly, this content belongs on a huge Hollywood screen. I can easily picture myself laughing out loud at this wedding fiasco… at the movie theatre.

It’s definitely unrealistic. The thing is, I don’t at all mind producers stretching reality thin, but when authors do that in my contemporary reads, I get annoyed.

Fortunately, it is not all unrealistic. The characters very much feel real and the family drama entertained me. But although it’s a humor

I loved this SO much and I am very emotional. I think it might’ve knocked Amy & Roger from my #2 spot of favorite MM books.

I won’t really talk in depth about much to spare anyone the waiting but I LOVED the characters, the big family, and all the hijinks.

Will probably reread and do a video review closer to when the book releases in June.

i adore weddings, like its such a fun time for celebration ft. mountains of food and a free space where no one will judge you for stuffing your face

honestly, does it get better??

so going into this book, i was highkey ready for that 5 star rating and well, i didn't dislike it, but it didn't shake my world either

- fun, lighthearted, family-oriented plot
- ft. //that// brother that always has the lame jokes that everyone rolls their eyes at but secretly loves

Save the Date is absolutely wonderful. it's funny and touching and just... wonderful. I love the focus on thr Grant family, and it was really cool to see the dynamic among the family as a whole unit as well as in smaller groupings. And all the wedding hijinks are amazing. Full review to come!

I can't make this stupid gif load correctly, but to quote Tom Haverford: "This is America. I want it now!"

Oh hi, new Morgan Matson book. I had no idea you existed. WHY DID I HAVE NO IDEA YOU EXISTED.
Okay guys I am FREAKING OUT about this now. Sadly it's not 2017, but early 2018 is better than late 2018!! This sounds so adorable, I love weddings and chaos. I'm super surprised that it's only 288 pages though, like whaaattt? I love long contemporaries, but I'm sure this'll still be amazing. I CAN'T EVEN CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT OVER THE COVER REVEAL. This is gonna be one heck of a cover, folks.

Another great coming of age story by Morgan Matson

Not as well-developed as the Unexpected Everything (my review) or as soul-searching as Since You've Been Gone (my review) BUT nevertheless a fun and relatable story, full of jokes, family imbalance, growing up and romantic interests.

What is it about?
Charlie Grant has been looking forward to her sister Linnie's wedding for a very long time. Her best memories are those with her older siblings, but since they've all moved out, it's hard to find al

Beautiful. One of my favorite contemporaries in recent memory. This is Morgan Matson's best.

I LOVED the crazy Grant family. Their dialogue and personalities are unmatched. I would have wanted a bit more depth from the parents or more interaction between them and a few of the kids, but I love every bit of what this family represents - their very real struggles and conflicts.

Although I definitely favor Charlie, J.J. is the real MVP.

PLEASE read this fun, hilarious new book as soon as possible.

This book was so cute! I mean, to be expected just from the author, but it was absolutely adorable! And weddings!

This was a beautiful contemporary, but it was't a romance novel (I too was surprised by this). The romance only had like twelve pages, and though I really wish there was more, I'm also glad that there wasn't because I feel like it would have taken away from the story.

This book is all about family relationships in all their complexity, and it was so well done. There was so much happen

I admit this was not my favorite Matson book. I loved the Grant family but I was not crazy about one member. That being said I honestly couldn’t stop reading it. I planned to, but I just couldn’t stop. And per usual with a Matson book I totally cried at one part. Review to come closer to release.

I couldn't help but notice how nice it felt - not trying to make everything perfect. Not trying to fit into some preconceived image. All the members of the Grant family were finally - in front of the entire country - being real.

I was very excited when I first saw the announcement for Save the Date, since I am a massive Morgan Matson fan and will honestly read anything she writes. This book did not let me down with its wedding shenanigans, likeable main character, and quirky family. I would definitely recommend this one, especially to those looking for a fun summer read.
you can find this review on my blog as well!
I’m used to Morgan Matson writing contemporary romance with other things built into it. I’ve only read three of her books including this one, though, so if that’s a wrong assumption, it’s 100% on me. But, in my experience, that’s what I expected from her.

At its heart, Save the Date is not a contemporary romance novel. Which--I’ll be honest, as I always am--was a pleasant surprise. It ended up being all the better in some ways for me. It was really f

Morgan Matson just gained a new fan.

This book was a mess, but it was such a great mess. Essentially the plot can be summed up with if something could go wrong at Charlie's sister's wedding, then it will. Plus the business of a 7-person household. Charlie is the youngest of her five siblings and is coming to terms with things changing within her family; the home she grew up on is being sold, the comic strip her mom has been writing for decades is coming to an end, and she's trying to decide wher

I love how family oriented this book is! Family always comes first for me and I can definitely relate to Charlie. The chaotic Grant family reminded me of my own family. It wasn’t a full five stars for me because it could’ve had a bit more romance in it. Well, more like I wanted more. Haha I still loved the book and definitely recommend it!

I really adored Save the Date! I loved the Grants, enjoyed the hilarity and over the top wedding shenanigans and most of all, just liked the feeling that I was witnessing (well reading) something real.

“How was it that you only fully realize what you had when it was gone? And I know there would be new friends, new experiences, and maybe even amazing adventures ahead of me. But I felt like I needed, for just a moment, to appreciate what I was - what we all were - leaving behind.”

So Morgan Matson has just created this amazing contemporary universe with dramatic families, adorable romances, and lots of laughs and I couldn’t be happier to be reading another book from her! Save the Date was just s

Morgan Matson’s New Adult Romance, Save the Date is a fun-filled read. Charlie Grant is looking forward to the weekend as her siblings will be home for a family wedding. Her expectations are high as this will probably be the last weekend that they all spend together at home as the house is being sold. The weekend has many twists and turns. Everything that can go wrong does. Charlie is having a difficult time with chang

This was a really good book and I really enjoyed the story and the characters. This was labelled as a romance novel, I don't agree with that though. The romance was definitely not a main aspect of the story and I did want more from Morgan, like I need a cutesy romance to lighten me up but I did like the family and relationships in this book.

Words cannot adequately convey how much I LOVED this book. I consider Morgan Matson one of my favorite authors, so of course I was excited for a new release from her. However, when I first read the premise, I definitely felt underwhelmed. I WAS WRONG. Save the Date was such an unexpected delight.

This is Morgan’s best book yet!! I can’t describe how much I loved this. Being the youngest girl of 5 siblings myself, I completely related to Charlie and just the whole situation of crazy older sibling wedding catastrophe. 😆

This is also her first book that truly does not focus on a main character romance. There are boys. They are cute. Feelings happen. But Charlie’s relationship with a boy is not the plot. Her relationship with her family is. And the way her relationships with each of them evo

It's a shame that by the time Morgan Matson got around to including PoC in her novels, those novels in question fell apart. I loved Matson's publication last summer and have since read all of her contemporary stand-alones, enjoying them in large part, but her latest I cannot recommend. It's simply too convoluted and reads like a bad movie script--too many unrealistic mishaps going wrong in the span of two days--and on top of that, there were just too many characters for any of them to feel fully ...more

Save The Date by Morgan Matson was a little different than I expected. There was almost no romance, it was actually centered on family. I liked it a lot. You can never go wrong with a Matson book. Perfect for summer!

Well, this book is as cozy as they come! Imagine the lives of a family who’s mother essentially writes “Family Circus”. “Grant Central Station” has been going for as long as Charlie can remember. It’s the reflection of her family life… The way she THINKS her family is. But, do her siblings feel the same way? Is their family life really the solid, shining beacon she always thinks it is?

I loved that the romance story was almost a secondary part of the novel. The family dynamic, the fact that their

Morgan Matson grew up in New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut. She attended Occidental College in Los Angeles but halfway though a theater degree, she started working in the children's department of Vroman's Bookstore and fell in love with YA literature.

Following college graduation (and the proud bearer of an incredibly useful theater/English degree) she moved back East to attend the New Schoo
