Working with the Google Fit team, I designed a set of 60+ user interface icons to be used throughout Google’s Android and web app, Google Fit. It was interesting to revisit the visual language I helped establish, and challenging to create a wide range of consistent iconography within the constraints our team once decided upon.
All icons were designed to be legible at roughly 18×18 pixels. This required us to mercilessly reduce shapes to their most basic forms, and then align them to the pixel grid, so they would be as crisp as possible. The first image to the right displays the icons at their native size, while following images display them much larger than intended.
