Inspired by the want to rid myself of the collecter’s gene I’ve always had, and my friend Jeff Johnson‘s selfless comic book loaning, I created Comic Relay.
Comic Relay is a crowd-sourced, traveling library for comic books and trade paperbacks. Acting as an intermediary between comic enthusiasts, Comic Relay aims to help comic owners find people to share their books with, and make it easier for the comic curious to find new books without the overhead. A shared book is better than a shelved book.
The branding of Comic Relay is meant to be as versatile as the comic books people share. With this in mind, I didn’t define a color palette or a de facto logo; Instead, a Comic Relay logo may be made by simply appending the “Relay” lock up and choosing any two colors.
I also designed simple stickers to place on comic covers that help to spread awareness while simultaneously discouraging people from collecting the comics they receive.
