The Monster Project asks artists and illustrators to “help children recognize the power of their own imaginations and to encourage them to pursue their creative potential” by redrawing illustrations elementary school students have created.

I chose this monster because of his jovial grin, flashy pattern, and mysteriously absent arm. In my illustration, I sought to give give him/her context, explain his child-like grin, and answer the unresolved question posed by the original piece…where IS his other arm?
