Virtua Fighter T-Shirt

2012

To celebrate the release of Virtua Fighter V Final Showdown, SEGA’s latest fighter, they held a pre-launch event and had a set of limited edition T-Shirts produced. I worked with the fine folks at iam8bit to create said shirt.

Virtua Fighter‘s fighting system revolves around the deceptively simple actions “Punch”, “Kick”, and “Guard”. This simple control scheme separates it from other fighters that rely on more complex controls. The franchise was also the first fighting game to feature polygonal graphics. I utilized these aspects of the franchise’s history to create a shirt that would be immediately recognizable to its fans. Oh, and we decided to replace the “Block” action with “Taunt”.
